Technical Note: excuse the unkempt appearance, especially justification, but Front Page has lost its mind and got the botts, and it may well take me some time to sort it out -- thanks....LB

Studio weather ... 77 am, 88 pm -- may rain, but I'm not complain'in -- T. Boone Pickens is commoditizing water, the sob...

Seen at the feeder or in the scrub today: ... Big Bunny cleaning up for the 4th ...
From the Cape: Launch activities: Now that Phoenix Lander has verified water at Mars' North Pole region, its first soil assay has indicated salt water very amicable to supporting life. No organics found yet.... Delta 4 Heavy carrying NROL-26 , a spy-sat, is scheduled to launch on September 26th from Complex 37. STS 125, Atlantis' mission to service the Hubble Telescope is scheduled to launch on October 8th. KSC officials say the pad damage caused by Discovery's launch can be repaired in time, and will not delay Atlantis. For STS 125, Endeavour will be on Pad 39B in case a rescue mission is needed, as Atlantis' crew can't reach the safety of ISS from that orbit without hitching a ride.

The studio is named for the blue sawtooth
palmettos
that surround it. The
palmetto is a unique plant tenacious, nearly indestructible, possessing
restorative qualities, and providing a nurturing natural habitat for wildlife. The name
and symbol reflects our work to observe and share the wonder around us, and provide an
illustrated record of the here and now, for present and,
hopefully, future generations to experience
and to reflect upon. The site url reflects the work and
philosophy of St. Francis of Assisi. In keeping with his example, this
humble attempt to share the beautiful and wondrous things in the world around us
is here for you.
A Walker's Hound and an Australian Shepherd (Snoopy and Beej) run the show.
We hope you enjoy your visit to the site.

Looking for information about St.
Francis?... or churches named for him, and
hospitals (especially the one that can't find the grace to stop using
stfrancis.com in Broken Arrow, OK)? When the name for this url was chosen
back in 1996, it was because St. Francis was my and my colleague's patron saint.
That awakened me to seek to follow his example. I try to do so by
chronicling and illustrating some of the wondrous things that are found at the
studio in my home town of Malabar, Florida, and various other places I have
visited. Being out in the country, I am blessed to be able to observe and
enjoy the fantastic wildlife that has learned to co-exist with man, as well as
witness the growth of mankind as it moves to the stars, from the launch pads at
Cape Canaveral and Merritt Island. I consider myself very lucky to be able
to do these things, and hopefully the offerings here will somehow be up to the
task. If you'd like the Assisi web site, use the
link below. 'Lord, make me an instrument of your Peace'.
